Suspended scaffolding

Suspended scaffolding

As a pioneer in the field, we have delivered scaffolding and access solutions for maintenance and modifications to the oil and gas industry and for the construction industry.

We often combine scaffolding with other access solutions. Through our experience and expertise, we find the optimal method. The goal is to find the best solution for access in a secure and cost-effective way.

Business area:

  • Industrial scaffolding
  • Scaffold roof system
  • Covering
  • Facade scaffolding
  • Inspection and quality
  • Engineering and 3D modeling
  • Project management
  • Planning and project execution
  • Multidiscipline personnel

We had a chat with our discipline leader for scaffolding , Ken Tommy Fromreide. See why he thinks you should work with scaffolding.

What does it mean to work with scaffolding?

In short, the subject is about building access and securing jobs for other subject categories. It involves physical and mental challenges when working both on the ground and at height. Calculation and drawing of scaffolding is part of the subject.

Why work with this subject?

As a scaffolder, you work both on the ground and at height. As a scaffolder, you must be creative and solution-oriented. You must like physical work and not be afraid of heights. Good communication skills are also important, since the job involves contact with customers, clients, builders and users of the scaffolding.

Why work with scaffolding in StS?

You get to work with some of the most experienced and competent scaffolding builders in Norway. You also get to experience the industry’s best working environment.

Johan Sverdrup

Performance of the entire scaffolding-scope during the fabrication and construction of the Johan Sverdrup Drilling Platform at Aibels Yard in Haugesund.

The contract is performed at Norm-Based Unit Rates and includes equipment, management, planning, and personell. The contract has an estimated value of around NOK 100 million. To StS knowledge this is the first project executed using norm based unit rates for scaffolding during construction-phase.

Pioneering using norms for the scaffolding discipling in a construction phase with excellent HSE-results we  recognize that the success factor in this project has been a highly qualified site-team at all levels. The ability to adapt in a changing environment and implement improvement rapidly has been crucial to StS performance and profitability in this project.
