In order to further enhance the safety of scaffolding operators, StS gruppen now introduces a new "safety kit" with the most modern and best fall protection equipment available.

The safety bag will certainly cost in excess of the equipment currently in use.

The goal is that our people always have access to the best equipment for hazardous tasks, says HSE manager Ivar Myhre.

Unlike before, the new "bag" will be "personal", and the content can only be used by the owner. At the same time, new procedures for recertification of the equipment have been established.

- Due to the fact that each scaffolding operator is personally to sign for the bag, the feeling of responsibility for the equipment will increase, thus significantly extending the life span of the equipment. But one of the most important aspects is that the scaffolding operator always has access to fall protection regardless of  method / system he chooses in his risk assessment, "explains Ivar Myhre.

The introduction will be take place gradually starting  after Christmas. During 2010, all StS scaffolding operators wil have received their bags. At the same time, the company will improve its fall protection courses in order to give support line and rescue additional focus.
